Battery and Light Bulb Recycling Notice

As of November 1, 2023, Hassett Hardware can no longer accept batteries or light bulbs for recycling at our stores.

San Mateo County no longer supports hazardous household waste collection at retail locations. Please use the resources below for proper disposal.

Batteries:

• Place household batteries in a sealed clear bag on top of your closed black garbage cart for curbside collection
• Use local drop-off locations through San Mateo County
• Schedule a free household hazardous waste (HHW) drop-off appointment

Electronics and Fluorescent Bulbs:

• These items cannot be placed in the trash
• Visit the San Mateo County Office of Sustainability for nearby drop-off locations
• Shoreway Environmental Center and other local organizations accept e-waste
